The history of tattooing

Location

This exhibition space tells the history of tattooing as a tribute to the art of permanent body adornment. The object blends raw mechanics with artistry.

The centrepiece is a monumental form, an artistic vision of a griffin. A gleaming needle detail in polished stainless steel runs through it. This steel element, threading the whole structure, stands for surgical precision and modernity, contrasting with the rest of the object.

The housing, made of brackets and massive wheels, is cast in chemically patinated copper. Its irregular, rusty texture forms a foundation of tradition and a visual mark of passing time.

Clear tempered glass reveals the inside of the display case. The history of tools and pigments held within comes through fully, gaining the status of a raw yet noble testament to the craft's evolution.
